California Western News

Friday, January 29, California Western School of Law welcomes Professor Michael P. Scharf of Case Western Reserve University School of Law for a discussion of his new book, Shaping Foreign Policy in Times of Crisis.

His book, co-authored with Paul R. Williams of American University, examines the role played by U.S. State Department legal advisers in shaping foreign policy since the Carter administration. Through interviews with former legal advisers, Scharf and Williams explore international law as a legitimate form of global governance vs. a set of politics that policymakers may disregard when convenient.
