Two local law associations recently awarded scholarships to California Western students and alumni in recognition of their leadership experience, service to the community, and academic achievement.
Recent graduates Gisela M. Acevedo ’13, Jessica S. Enriquez ’13, and Irving Pedroza ’13 each received a bar stipend from the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association (SDLRLA), to assist in their studies and living expenses during preparation for July’s California State Bar Exam.
Three of the seven award recipients are California Western alumni, selected by the SDLRLA Scholarship Fund based on their individual contributions to the Latino community, leadership experience, academic achievement, and any hardship they may have experienced in pursuing an education.
“The Selection Committee received dozens of applications from tremendously talented students,” said Nadia Bermudez, President of SDLRLA.” “We wish them all the best of luck, and look forward to having them join us in this profession.”
