The California Attorneys for Criminal Justice (“CACJ”) Foundation sponsors the
2013 GIDEON SCHOLARSHIP. CACJ recognizes the fifty years that have passed since the high courts declared that states have an obligation to provide defendants with adequate defense for the poor.
In honor of Gideon and the continued struggle for indigent defense clients, the CACJ Foundation is sponsoring six monetary scholarships up to $500 per student. They will select six law students who demonstrate an overwhelming commitment to the field of criminal defense in their school, community or work experience. The deadline for appllying is October 15, 2013.
