Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship

Banner & Witcoff, LTD. is pleased to offer the Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship for law students. This scholarship is part of Banner & Witcoff’s continuing commitment to fostering the development of intellectual property lawyers from diverse backgrounds. The scholarship is open to all students pursuing a career in intellectual property law. The applicant must be a member of a historically under represented group and must have exemplary writing and oral communication skills. Applications are due January 7, 2013.

Judge Wallace Scholarship

The Kern County Bar Association Charitable Foundation is accepting applications for the Judge Wallace Scholarship from any currently enrolled (2nd and 3rd year) Law Students with ties to Kern County. The application process requires the completion of the page application and an essay of 500 words or less. Information and the application are available online at: Judge Arthur E. Wallace Scholarship. Completed applications must be postmarked by January 15, 2013 in order to be considered for the upcoming scholarship round.

California Bar Foundation – Rosenthal Bar Exam Scholarship

The Rosenthal Bar Exam Scholarship recognizes outstanding graduating California law students with financial need who are embarking on careers in public service law by providing financial support for costs related to taking the California Bar Exam. The Rosenthal Bar Exam Scholarship is awarded in the spring of 2013. All winners will receive California Bar/Bri Law Review Bar Exam review courses (valued at more than $3,500), with top winners also receiving $2,000 in cash to help defray fees and related expenses of taking the California Bar Exam. Dorothy L. Weller P.E.O. Scholarship

California Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) is a philanthropic organization for women. Founded in 1869 as a small friendship society, P.E.O. quickly grew into a diverse, widespread sisterhood with one mission: promote educational and personal growth opportunities for women. The Dorothy L. Weller scholarship is awarded to female residents of California who are pursuing a law degree. Applicants must have excellent records in scholastic ability, school activities, character and integrity. Award amount and number of awards varies annually. Application deadline is February 1, 2013. AABA Law Foundation Scholarship

The Asian American Bar Association will award one scholarship of $5,000 and one scholarship of $2,500 to law students who have demonstrated a commitment to serving the needs of the Asian Pacific American community, and who will continue to serve the needs of the Asian Pacific American community through pro bono, public interest, and/or public service legal work. A connection to the Chicago area is preferred. Applications are due March 1, 2013.

ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship

The purpose of the American Bar Association Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund is to encourage racial and ethnic minority students to apply to and attend law school and to provide financial assistance to ensure that these students have the opportunity to attend law school for three years. They will award $5,000 annually to an entering first-year student (which may be renewable for two additional years, totaling $15,000). Applications are due March 1, 2013.
