Career Services

Don’t miss the 2L and 3L JOB ORIENTATION this THURSDAY where you will hear from Lou Helmuth, Esq., one of the most highly regarded career services professionals in the legal industry.  We have blocked this timeframe so that there are no scheduling conflicts on your calendar.

2L and 3L Orientation, Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 12:15-1:30  p.m. in LH 1/LH 2 (with lunch provided)

Lou has been examining the legal marketplace for more than 15 years.  He has recently met with hundreds of employers all around the country in private law firms, public agencies, and in non-government organizations.  As a result, he has insights about today’s legal market, what it takes to be hired in today’s market, and effective strategies for 2nd year law students seeking fall, spring, summer internships and for  3rd year law students seeking fall, spring and post-graduate opportunities.  Lou will share with you the facts you need to understand about what is currently happening in the legal market, why it is happening, where there is resulting opportunity and what you need to do to be successful in today’s market.  He is the former Asst. Dean for Career Services at CWSL, and was the hiring attorney in a small law firm and has also worked as an attorney in corporations and non-government organizations

If you’re only going to attend one workshop this year, this should be it.  The subject matter is VERY important.  You will obtain the critical information that you need about the standards and expectations of the current and prospective job markets, and which steps you need to take to ensure that you are as prepared and competitive as possible upon graduation.
